Is generating dofollow blog backlink traffic really worth the time and effort that it takes to make quality comments on dofollow blogs? Does it really work?
I am a strong advocate of dofollow blogs, which is why I blog about it, and I can tell you that my experience tells me that it does work. This blog is a perfect example.
Following are some of the dofollow blog keywords that this blog ranks for Google.
dofollow blogs (Ranks 5 out of 340,000 Results)
dofollow blog list (Ranks 3 out of 1,210,000 Results)
do follow blogs (Ranks 9 out of 80,400,000 Results)
do follow blog (Ranks 3 out of 60,200,000 Results)
do follow blog list (Ranks 4 out of 37,300,000 Results)
do follow blogs list (Ranks 2 out of 42,600,000 Results)
dofollow blog (Ranks 7 out of 460,000 Results)
Furthermore, my Alexa ranking has been dropping steadily and now stands at the 70,709th most popular site on all of the internet. You need to take Alexa rankings with a grain of salt, but I have seen my blog traffic stats increase as my Alexa rank has dropped.
The great thing is, I haven’t really done anything special to obtain these rankings. Here is all I have done.
1. I made the blog dofollow.
2. I submitted one article to Ezinearticles about dofollow blogging.
3. I created one video, that is a spoof of the history of dofollow blogs.
4. I submitted my site to my dofollow blog list.
5. I have commented on other dofollow blogs.
I can’t tell you how many dofollow blogs I have commented on, because I haven’t tracked it. I can tell you it hasn’t been all that many – less than 30 I would guess.
There is no reason you shouldn’t me able to increase your blog traffic by following the simple steps above.
Here are a couple of more tips that should help you.
1. Write good, unique content.
2. When commenting on dofollow blogs, add quality comments.
3. Vary your link text when commenting on dofollow blogs.
4. Don’t always link to your main blog post. Link to specific posts within your blog to get some deep links to individual posts.
5. Comment on 3 dofollow blogs every day, or so. That would give you 30 dofollow backlinks in one month, you could have 360 backlinks in a year.
6. Comment on different dofollow blogs. Commenting on the same dofollow blogs over and over will not do you as much good as commenting on different blogs on different domains.
Okay, get out there and start building your traffic by creating backlinks from dofollow blog comments.
Let me stress, as I always do, you must make quality comments, related to the post. If you don’t, your comment will not be approved, or will be deleted.

Those are indeed pretty nice results you have. But in terms of traffic, what are you getting from the SERPS? And did you ever check what you should expect (like with the google keyword tool?
nice results there. If you can move up just a little more you should see a big jump in traffic. I think like 80% click one of the first 2 links. At least that is what I’ve read. Of course isn’t it always,’If I could just move a little higher’. Its quite the rat race.
I’d say I consider Dofollow blogs the second best source of backlinks. In my opinion article directories are better. But reading do follow blogs and commenting on them helps and is good fun.

I have seen how much of an asset DoFollow blogs can be. I have seen my comment count soar and my traffic increase since making my blogs DoFollow, writing posts about them, submitting to DoFollow directories and commenting on other Dofollow blogs.
The stunning thing about it is that contrary to what I thought, there was no noticeable increase in spam, thanks to Akismet.

My only concern is that I delete a number of comments that do not contribute to the topic discussion. So, if my blog was on your list, it may get removed because I don’t approve enough comments.
So, people using your service need to understand that you must make quality comments related to the blog post, or there comments may not be approved, or may be deleted.

I’m currently a new member of the dofollow blog community and because of this, I’ve come to realize its importance. I was really ignorant about it but then tried to google the facts. Now I think I’ becoming too strict with choosing which comments to approve. I have pending comments and are yet to be approved.
Dofollow is such an interesting idea. I have been playing around with the idea for awhile on my own blog. Thankfully I’ve had quite a bit of interaction on the site without using it, but I’m sure it would increase tremendously if I added the dofollow to my comments.

Comments on dofollow blogs have been useful to me. I ranked some sites just commenting on blogs. Also, dofollow blogs seems to be more lively than nofollow ones that very often have few or zer comments.

I think having a dofollow blog can really improve traffic. However, if your blog is a dofollow, you must also be aware that it is prone to spam comments. Good thing, there’s Askimet.

Some good tips. I like the fact you tell people to use different terms or keywords not many people know this. The one about not linking to main page is harder to do most sites want you to use main url not inner page but comment luv lets you get those links easy.

Yes dofollow is a real good trend and nice to see your site coming to the top of the search results. But some people just use it to gain traffic and never approve comments. :@
I have over 100 blogs, and all of them are dofollow… I’m not sure what harm it does to blog owners to allow dofollow links on their sites. Just moderate the comments and make sure they’re not spammy, and you’re good to go. Keep up the great work, and thanks!
Some have the option to stay d follow but the risk is they attract more and more spammers. Until they get they’re desire Page Rank I’m sure they will turn it off, making it no follow.

Do-follow basically increase traffic, but one can make misuse of do-follows by posting spams on your blogs which may have affect your blog working. Its dangerous.

I agree with “Sheepskin flying jacket” above about “quality comments.” I once had a blog that I wound up shutting down because I had thousands of spam comments come in that I couldn’t control (because I was very new to the whole idea, and it was overwhelming!)
It takes a while to build the back links, but one of the benefits I have seen in my own experience when visiting and commenting on blogs is how much I learn! So, it’s a terrific experience for me.
