BloggingToTheBank - Make Money Blogging

What? You might think that is a strange title – this site uses keywordluv.

KeywordLuv is a Wordpress plugin, that I think is a must for do-follow blogs, and I use it on all of my dofollow blogs.

Those who post valid comments on do-follow blogs know that it’s important to use the right keyword link text on their comments.

For example, when I post comments on other do-follow blogs and point them to my Do-Follow Blog Directory, I don’t use the actual link in the comments name field – http://followlist.com .

blog-link-text

Instead I want to use something like:

Correct Link Text Example

Notice I use the Name “Mike Do-Follow Directory”. Ideally I would like to use just “Do-Follow Directory”, but some blog owners don’t like you to use just your keywords. If you use your name and then your keywords blog owners will be more forgiving.

Since most who comment on do-follow blogs don’t know this, there is a way you can help them use the correct Name – KeywordLuv.

I use KeywordLuv on all of my do-follow blogs because it encourages comments since they do get to use their keyword in the link, and I like the way it looks.

The KeywordLuv syntax is “YourName@YourKeywords” like below.

KeywordLuv Example
That’s why this site uses keywordluv, it’s perfect for Do-Follow Blogs!

The KeywordLuv plugin also automatically sets your blog comments to be Do-Follow. However, it doesn’t seem to work for setting do-follow on my blog, so I use the DoFollow Plugin.

  2. Bob from Real Estate in Tampa on June 23rd, 2008 6:50 pm

Well this seems to be a great idea and one that should hopefully take off quite well. I did try to install it on my blog but I had problems with it.

lol it took me forever to find the real comments box -_-

  4. Mike from do follow blogs on June 27th, 2008 2:41 pm

Yeah I agree that this is really a beutiful solution for both blog owners and commentators as I, too do not like to reply to comments where I have to say “Hi home insurance” to adress the commentor …

  5. Simon from free Vector Art on July 6th, 2008 4:44 am

I have added keywordluv to one of my blogs, and have found my comments have gone up 300%. Fantastic. Although you really do need to check on the links that people leave, to make sure your not linking to bad sites. Worth it I think and a great addition to the do-follow blogging movement.

  6. Erin from Hair Blow Dryers on July 31st, 2008 2:31 pm

Great plugin here! Now hopefully we can see less wierd names since keywords can be used instead of being inserted as “names”. So you won’t have to reply like “Dear Best Travel Advice, …” =D

  7. Karlonia from Internet Marketing Blog on August 4th, 2008 10:42 am

Although I have not yet gotten the KeywordLuv plugin to work, my blog at Karlonia.com is DoFollow for comments.

I just discovered the KeywordLuv plugin (great idea!) yesterday, but sadly my theme seems to be incompatible. This probably doesn’t matter much, however; people seem to be doing a good enough job of putting their keywords in the name field anyway :)

  8. Olivier from mindfulness exercises on August 4th, 2008 7:16 pm

Yes, it is a great plugin, I also use it on my blog.

Also: congrats Mike, You have the nr1 spot on google for the keyword “this site uses keywordluv”. I just found you in this way.

  9. Do-Follow Mike on August 5th, 2008 1:28 pm

Thanks for pointing out the #1 spot, Oliver.

It’s not by accident, but I didn’t realize I had that spot.

Not the best keyword to have the #1 spot for, but I’ll take it. I’ll also be sharing how a WP plugin helped me to get that #1 spot.

I agree Keyword Luv is amazing for both sides. Commenters get a nice back link with their keywords while the blog owner gets more relevant comments.

I am going to be implementing this on one of my blogs to test it out and see if it can help increase interaction. Thanks.

I have facing trouble posting with keywords on many blogs. Hope it will work and acceptable to do-follow blog owners. Thanks for the tip.

  17. JS from BusbySeoChallenge on August 18th, 2008 3:08 am

    Interesting!
KeywordLuv helps you reward your commentators by separating their name from their keywords in the link to their site. This gives them improved anchor text, which can help their site rank higher in the search engine results.
You can now leave a comment with your name as well as a keyword of your choice here and get a PR5 link back to your site! How cool is that? People pay big bucks for that and all you have to do is comment here.

  18. Simon from how to make quick money on August 24th, 2008 4:21 am

Just a heads up that JS SEO Busby comment is being spammed all over Keywordluv blogs like mine…I have seen it in 6 different blogs already.

  32. Do-Follow Mike on November 6th, 2008 3:59 pm

    Hey Oldbuddy,
Yes you do need to install a DoFollow plugin.
The KeywordLuv plugin is irrelevant if you’re not a dofollow blog, since links with anchor text won’t be followed.

    Hope that makes sense.

    This plug-in is great!

First, it encourages people to comment on your posts which search engine loves.

Second, people like me who leaves comments get some keyword love. :D

But does anybody here think that Google might track down blogs using KeywordLuv and somehow tag them to be gaming the system? Just a thought.

Thanks for implementing this great plug-in on your site. It’s an excellent idea to reward contributors to your site with a backlink and avoids the feeling of being rude when entering a keyword in lieu of your name – it makes the comments part of an article look so much more professional. Lets hope use of KeywordLuv spreads.

I suppose the traffic to older post has risen because the content is frequently updated ( through comments ) and the search engine spiders crawl your pages more frequently, or am i mistaken?

  87. Shane from Master Dayton Freelance Writing Blog on February 23rd, 2009 6:16 pm

Thanks for the thorough writeup. I have been debating on installing KWL on one of my more popular WP blogs. I have hesitated for a couple of reasons.

I don’t want to have to spend more time fighting spammers than I already do. Does having KeywordLuv installed lead to more spam?

Does it impact your Adsense CTR at all? I am afraid of attracting more webmasters who are less likely to click ads instead of more surfers looking for info.

    Just wondering… Thanks.

But, I hope it’s not just about improving your rankings with backlinks: we all have a stake in furthering meaningful discourse in the blogsphere with solid grammar, strong punctuation and compelling content.

  146. Matt from professional business cards on April 29th, 2009 3:25 am

Using KeywordLuv plugin in your site has many benefits. First, it attracts readers to your blog. Second, you get quality comments because keywords are now separated from them. Lastly, your readers will gain quality back links.

We installed the plugin over at our site, and have Akismet as our spam guard and we are finding a ton of semi-legitimate comments being filtered as spam.

  155. Andy from Engagement Rings on May 15th, 2009 8:07 am

Keywordluv gives users motivation to post comments. Yet, content is very important to keep them coming back. In my opinion keywordluv is especially interesting as a tool to draw attention to a relatively new blog.

  157. thomas from web hosting reviews on May 16th, 2009 6:15 am

Just had to stop in and say I absolutely love this plugin. I think people miss the whole point of adding comments to a post though. Comments are meant to add to the overall value of the post.

Telling the person their post had great info is actually very rude.

The person who wrote the post knows its good. That’s why they wrote it. So no need to tell them you thought it was informative.

Why not be honest and write “Thanks for the opportunity to leave a link to my web site on yours. Oh and by the way, I didn’t read one single word of your post”

  158. http://myforextradingplatform.com on May 17th, 2009 8:18 pm

I think it is important to make sure that all the comments you are rewarding with do follow are relevant and not spammy, otherwise it is unfair to the people that actually contribute to you site instead of just using it for a free backlink.

It’s all about keywordluv. I have been looking for a really good SEO blog for a while. A lot of blogs cover SEO but are not dedicated to it. Going to check these out! What is your take on PR? There has been lot of confusion about Page Rank ever since Google has decided to remove them.

Have you considered (or maybe you already did) writing a blog about this?

I wasn’t personally aware of the Do Follow Plugin until the middle of 2009. Then I started using it on a few of my niche website blogs. You really can’t complain. It’s a great blogging tool that creates a real win/win.

  328. Anton from gambling on January 30th, 2010 1:35 pm

This way of adding content and links, is becoming increasingly popular on the internet. Search engines love this type of pages and everybody wins, both the owner of the blog or the commentator. Thanks and Good luck.

Just curious, do you find using the keywordluv plugin attracts a huge ammount of junk comments from spammer?

As opposed to using something like commentluv where it provides and enticing link back to someones page instead?

    Hi guys:
First, Let me say thanks for allowing us to take advantage of this great plug-in/tool that you are using (keyword luv)here.
I have a question, Do you think that the domain extension has a great deal of impact when trying to rank with the serps? I registered my domain with a .us extension and I have yet to get it ranked at all w/ google, All my other sites have either a .com, or .net extensions and are doing just great. All landing in the top 10- 15 spots. But i cant get this one to show up at all, any thoughts
    Thanks in advance

CommentLuv is amazing. I use it on all of my blogs and it really does increase the amount of REAL comments from readers, as there is an incentive for them to post. I like how you can post your name for a link. Thanks for the post.

  348. Biodun from Shopping cart website design on February 24th, 2010 4:48 am

KeywordLuv is very useful plugin for a blog and for the longest time I have been using it to share link love to the commenters on my blog! The main purpose of KeywordLuv is to let you choose your keywords for your link anchor freely.

  349. Chuck from Buses For Sale on February 24th, 2010 11:23 am

Keyword Luv is a great traffic getter. The best part is that it provides a win win relationship. The commenters leave a little conten and the site rewards with an anchor text specific backling. Now that Google puts so much emphasis on backlinjs as an indicator of a websites content value the value a a single backlink is very important. Thans

I’m a big fan of the keywordluv plugin, as well as dofollow. I try my best to leave good comments, but sometimes even if I leave an intelligent comment; because I have a “keyword” name, I’m tagged as a spammer. It’s sad that so many actual spammers are giving legit blog commenters a bad name…

This is a fantastic plugin! I just learned about it and think that it will benefit many do-follow blogs — of course, you need to maintain some minimum standard of post you’ll accept, but KeywordLuv acts well to personalize it a bit more.

  362. Philip Randall Expert Author on March 6th, 2010 4:02 pm

Hello Admin, respectfully, I believe you should all practice what you preach. The software is called “KEYWORD LUV” it was made for “Keywords” and “Luv” not restricted use and censorhip?

Firstly you are advertising on your site? Secondly, you have the right to delete comments you do not like? Thirdly, and most importantly; we are adding vital and valuable content to your blogs FREE!

This gets your blog ranked higher in Google and all the Search engines and more traffic.

We provide original content that saves you a lot of time effort and money to post original content to your blog and- which Google loves and rewards you handsomely for our huge contribution.

This should therefore be fully appreciated, fully valued and fully reciprocal.
The last time I looked Luv was fully reciprocal. It is an equal partnership and not judgemental?

Personally if someone will not give me a break? or let me use my keyword and anchor text- I will go elsewhere? I will take my valuable content to a valuable website or blog that I am very happy to contribute tons of free content forever- in return.

Thereby; raising the searches, traffic and dare I say it? sales? to that Blog or website and blog owner?

I am an expert Author on Ezinearticles and I get massive backlinks and sales from a 250 word article, which I am good for on any blog, on any given day? They let me use three links- one keyword in the body, and both a full url domain name and a keyword anchor text in the resource box?

Blog owners who expect the world and are not willing to give just 1 keyword to a prolific writer like myself’ are shooting themselves in the foot. You will stay small time and your blog will not rank or get ranked higher anytime soon.

You have a page rank of 0 – zero? and it will stay that way for a long time if you do not change your limited thinking.

Many forums such as ABestWeb and Clickbank success forum; give me a great resource box with a whole sales blurb and links and URL’s. I only have to give a paragraph.

Because I have given so much help and content to their community in the past, They actually rank my answers and my posts on the first page of Google.

Anything with my name on it gets ranked on that same page- the value to me is huge and I love to post there because of it.

I get literally dozens of requests from bloggers and web owners to be a guest writer and blogger on their blogs and sites for 1 keyword link. They know how much valuable free content I bring to the table.

They also know Google will spider their blogs regularly and rank them higher because they are providing a great service of fresh new original and valuable content.

Also my name on their blog gets their blog picked up in the SERPS as well?

What do you think would happen if you put the message out there that your blog lets people who make great comments and people who give valuable contributions an incentive? Namely a keyword link?

Dude or Dudess? Every one will flood your blog with so much fresh new content it would not be funny, the traffic both in commenters and searchers would be massive?

Yes you can stipulate that they have to be moderated first for quality. Just delete the rest that don’t make the grade as you do now?

Just Ask yourself- why does Ezinearticles? and all the other Article Directories online allow keyword links? Ask yourself- how high are they ranked in Google? Yahoo? and Bing?

Ask yourself- why? do many of the news Blogs online allow it?

Ask yourself- why do Link exchanges allow it?

Ask yourself how much content and page views do they all get?

Then ask yourself why are you not getting the same volume of content, quality writers, rankings and millions of page views and sales that they are getting?

So there is something you can all think about and comment on? Should blog owners give writers who supply fresh, original and valuable content; that gets their sites and blogs ranked higher in Google, an anchor text backlink? for their efforts?

My view is a resounding yes! Be smart or be last?
