What? You might think that is a strange title – this site uses keywordluv.
KeywordLuv is a Wordpress plugin, that I think is a must for do-follow blogs, and I use it on all of my dofollow blogs.
Those who post valid comments on do-follow blogs know that it’s important to use the right keyword link text on their comments.
For example, when I post comments on other do-follow blogs and point them to my Do-Follow Blog Directory, I don’t use the actual link in the comments name field – http://followlist.com .
Instead I want to use something like:
Notice I use the Name “Mike Do-Follow Directory”. Ideally I would like to use just “Do-Follow Directory”, but some blog owners don’t like you to use just your keywords. If you use your name and then your keywords blog owners will be more forgiving.
Since most who comment on do-follow blogs don’t know this, there is a way you can help them use the correct Name – KeywordLuv.
I use KeywordLuv on all of my do-follow blogs because it encourages comments since they do get to use their keyword in the link, and I like the way it looks.
The KeywordLuv syntax is “YourName@YourKeywords” like below.
That’s why this site uses keywordluv, it’s perfect for Do-Follow Blogs!
The KeywordLuv plugin also automatically sets your blog comments to be Do-Follow. However, it doesn’t seem to work for setting do-follow on my blog, so I use the DoFollow Plugin.

Well this seems to be a great idea and one that should hopefully take off quite well. I did try to install it on my blog but I had problems with it.

Yeah I agree that this is really a beutiful solution for both blog owners and commentators as I, too do not like to reply to comments where I have to say “Hi home insurance” to adress the commentor …
I have added keywordluv to one of my blogs, and have found my comments have gone up 300%. Fantastic. Although you really do need to check on the links that people leave, to make sure your not linking to bad sites. Worth it I think and a great addition to the do-follow blogging movement.
Great plugin here! Now hopefully we can see less wierd names since keywords can be used instead of being inserted as “names”. So you won’t have to reply like “Dear Best Travel Advice, …” =D
Although I have not yet gotten the KeywordLuv plugin to work, my blog at Karlonia.com is DoFollow for comments.
I just discovered the KeywordLuv plugin (great idea!) yesterday, but sadly my theme seems to be incompatible. This probably doesn’t matter much, however; people seem to be doing a good enough job of putting their keywords in the name field anyway

I agree Keyword Luv is amazing for both sides. Commenters get a nice back link with their keywords while the blog owner gets more relevant comments.

The KeywordLuv plugin is irrelevant if you’re not a dofollow blog, since links with anchor text won’t be followed.

I love this plugin – it makes comments look less spammy by allowing commenters to include their names alongside their keywords
I contribute to this real estate blog in San Diego and it really helps to have this plug-in. It definitely gets more people to participate in the blog. The only thing to watch out for is some spam but besides that it has been great and get more people to participate in the blog.

Askimet marked me as spam for using my Keywords normally on peoples comment areas. Hopefully, only using keywords on blogs that have this feature enabled will aid me in getting off the spam list.
This is possibly the single best plugin that wp has. It’s a win-win situation mainly because it gives the readers a great incentive to leave good comments and the blog receives more traffic and possible more ad revenue as well.

Keywordluv is a great tool to keep people from filling their post with spammy keywords.
Keyword luv is a great way to get more traffic and comments on a blog. Comment luv is another greta pluggin that lets people get a link to last post of thier blog.
I would say that is also a sign of respect to include your name, instead of just the nickname or even some just anonymous.
This plug-in increased the readers in my site – truly rocks! .. I still get spam messages/comments, but of course.. they don’t get posted. =)

Second, people like me who leaves comments get some keyword love.
But does anybody here think that Google might track down blogs using KeywordLuv and somehow tag them to be gaming the system? Just a thought.

Keyword luv plug-in is perhaps one of the best that I have encountered. This takes away the impression of spamming despite the effort to post a relevant comment. Hopefully I would get to discover a lot other do follow blogs using this plug in.
The “samples” at the top really threw me off at first, lol! The “dofollow” movement is one of the best things to happen to blogs- it’s a great way to get people involved.
Nice plugin! I am now using DoFollow and Keyword Luv. DoFollow should be the default in Blogs as a lot bloggers don’t understand how to turn it on.
I started using the keywordluv plugin about a week ago on one of my blogs and it seems great. Then I tried to find other sites using it and noticed that most of them have nofollow tags on all of their outgoing links! But, what is the point in keywordluv if your going to use no follow rel tags?

Keywordluv is a great tool to encourage discussion on your blog. The blogger is rewarded with relevant discussion while the the reader is rewarded with a valuable backlink to their site.

It’s an excellent idea to reward contributors to your site with a backlink and avoids the feeling of being rude when entering a keyword in lieu of your name – it makes the comments part of an article look so much more professional. The plug-in works awesome. It encourages an active forum interaction on one’s site. Spammers cannot be avoided – giving senseless comments, though they can be controlled. This is just great! =)

KeywordLuv is a great plugin. It allows commenters to get rewarded for commenting but at the same time allows the site owners to know their real names.
It makes it a whole lot personal. Much better than just talking to someone using their site name as their actual name.

It makes perfect sense. For example, I just use discount furniture up there and the owner would like to reply to my comment? Of course it wouldn’t be all that great if he address me as discount furniture.

Keyword Luv and Comment Luv are both great plug-ins. You did a great job of explaining how it works. Sometimes it takes people a few tries to get the @ right.
I like keyword plugin. I am suprised how many people never take the time and read how it works. Your one of the few sites that show people how they are supposeto post.
i’m currently using it on my blog and it makes some of my reader to leave comments. Aside from that, this is also a good way of giving back a ‘gift’ for them for giving time to comment.

Hi, thank you for this post. I have a question, what is your experience with your website traffic after implementation of this plugin and after making your links do-follow? I suppose the traffic to older post has risen because the content is frequently updated ( through comments ) and the search engine spiders crawl your pages more frequently, or am i mistaken?
I definitely agree that everything I’ve seen about CommentLuv and KeywordLuv definitely makes these plug-ins worth it. They’ve even convinced me to start looking at Word Press blogs over Bloger – a little scary for the tech challenged like me

I don’t want to have to spend more time fighting spammers than I already do. Does having KeywordLuv installed lead to more spam?

Keyword luv is a great way to get traffic to your site, as long as you’re users don’t abuse this privilege. You have shed some light on some good key points on how to run a successful blog with this plugin, definitely going to try them.

But are you finding that the number of general comments that you approve on a daily basis have gone up?
We installed the plugin over at our site, and have Akismet as our spam guard and we are finding a ton of semi-legitimate comments being filtered as spam.
I noticed you are running Spam Karma 2 instead, do you find it prevents these false positives?
I’m using this in my blog and there are people that don’t read the note saying how to post properly, when they post only the keyword I feel the urge to deny their comment, but if it is really something that add up to the topic, then I approve.

Keywordluv gives users motivation to post comments. Yet, content is very important to keep them coming back. In my opinion keywordluv is especially interesting as a tool to draw attention to a relatively new blog.

The person who wrote the post knows its good. That’s why they wrote it. So no need to tell them you thought it was informative.

This plugin makes blog commenting a little more civilized. The owner gets a great comment (hopefully) and the commenter has flexibility with their anchor text (within reason) without feeling guilty or having to wonder if their comment will be deleted for not following the rules.

I thought keyword luv was old school. I see it is still alive and well. I have used comment luv before and it adds content from the commenter’s blog.
Keyword Luv is a great alternative to comment luv for people who do not have a blog on their site! If you do have a blog on your site, both work great together!
I’m not sure if keywordluv put a dofollow tag on the links automatically, i think the blogs would need the dofollow free plugin too.
I think it is important to make sure that all the comments you are rewarding with do follow are relevant and not spammy, otherwise it is unfair to the people that actually contribute to you site instead of just using it for a free backlink.

Keyword Luv is a great plugin. I also love akismet because it catches most of the spam. Looks like most of the spam is from some software generated program because they never pertain to the post. This plug in saves me tons of time by not having to approve or disapprove those types of comments.

I have a number of sites that all have keywordluv on them, I attract a lot of comments which is good but I also increased the quality of the comments by having a spiel at the top of the page listing what is a good comment and what comments will be deleted.
This is a win win for me as a result of doing this I have good quality comments which help keep my sites fresh.

This plugin is great for generating traffic and comments. It is especially helpful since some of the search engines actually encourage linking out to external sites, as opposed to penalizing such activities.
I started using keyword luv after my cousin told me about it about a month ago. I posted about 35 comments and watched my links climb to over 1400 in no time! It is unbelievable. I am now on the first page of Google. Rock on Luv!

By making a comment on a Do follow blog, you can easily get a free backlink to your site or blog. But, the most important thing is that, don’t try to spam by making irrelevant comments.

I think this is a great plugin for everyone. The site owner gets good content, and the commentor gets a link back to their website. It really is a nice deal. As long as everyone plays by the rules, it should be around for a long time.
Although fairly new to WordPress, I thought I knew all of the most useful and practical plugins until I came across this one out there and did a search for blogs containing it. Thanks for making it available and lets hope that it is not abused.

keywordluv and do follow plugin is very good for new blog but for medium up traffic blog it will hard to keep the comment spam free…
It’s all about keywordluv. I have been looking for a really good SEO blog for a while. A lot of blogs cover SEO but are not dedicated to it. Going to check these out! What is your take on PR? There has been lot of confusion about Page Rank ever since Google has decided to remove them.
Have you considered (or maybe you already did) writing a blog about this?
Obviously there are both good and bad things about the KeywordLuv. Good for people who comment as they get backliinks but maybe not so fun for the creator to get spam comments. Is this a big problem or can you live with it? I think it’ll help us all if we figure out methods to make this work even better!

I have a question, Do you think that the domain extension has a great deal of impact when trying to rank with the serps? I registered my domain with a .us extension and I have yet to get it ranked at all w/ google, All my other sites have either a .com, or .net extensions and are doing just great. All landing in the top 10- 15 spots. But i cant get this one to show up at all, any thoughts

I’m a big fan of the keywordluv plugin, as well as dofollow. I try my best to leave good comments, but sometimes even if I leave an intelligent comment; because I have a “keyword” name, I’m tagged as a spammer. It’s sad that so many actual spammers are giving legit blog commenters a bad name…

Yes you can stipulate that they have to be moderated first for quality. Just delete the rest that don’t make the grade as you do now?
Just Ask yourself- why does Ezinearticles? and all the other Article Directories online allow keyword links? Ask yourself- how high are they ranked in Google? Yahoo? and Bing?
Ask yourself- why? do many of the news Blogs online allow it?
Ask yourself- why do Link exchanges allow it?
Ask yourself how much content and page views do they all get?
Then ask yourself why are you not getting the same volume of content, quality writers, rankings and millions of page views and sales that they are getting?
So there is something you can all think about and comment on? Should blog owners give writers who supply fresh, original and valuable content; that gets their sites and blogs ranked higher in Google, an anchor text backlink? for their efforts?
My view is a resounding yes! Be smart or be last?

KeywordLuv is one of my new favorite addons. It allows people to get decent anchor text promotion without looking to spammy by putting their name as the anchor text. Very sweet!
One of the best thing that a blogger should need is how to increase their backlinks. Keywordluv is a great way for a blog to announce that they do allow keyword, and it looks a lot better when there’s both the name and the keywords. I like to know who is commenting.

KeywordLuv is a goldmine for wordpress blogs because generate traffic. If you have a good site you’ll have a lot of traffic coming from long tail searches generated from these comments.
Is a little bit difficult to answer to these comments and to delete spam comments but keywordluv is still a very good tool.

Keyworluv is an excellent idea. As the previous poster said however sometimes it is still frustrating when you leave good comments only to be denied.
On my own blogs I only delete true sspammers … anyone who puts just a little bit of effort is allowed in!

The benefit of commenting on a no-follow blog is the possible referral traffic you get from having a no-follow link on that blog. And while you’re commenting on that blog you get to see who else commented on that blog.
I have been commenting on blogs with the keywordluv puugin now for about 2 weeks now, and I have seen my keywords moved up in the search engines from nothing to about 300 down on the list. This isn’t good, but at least it is a start.

This plugin is a great booster for blogs. Nowadays commenter really look forward in getting something in return when they comment. Keywordluv is something that will invite some good comments to your blog.
This constitutes a cracking plugin. The internet wouldn’t cost what it is without people dealing connections so I’m gladsome to catch others jumping aboard this ship with me.
A DoFollow blog is only after your traffic, they know once you post your comment you’ll most likely never come back, unless your niche is relevant to theirs they will probably not approve your comment for fear of leaking search juice (unless they are a nice fellow).
KeywordLuv means social blogging. You let your pagerank shine on other blogs / websites! Keep doing it and other websites will give you something in return!
I am curious of the future of this tool-It seems great and everyone seems to benefit from it but will Google ever start overlooking this method of backlinking?
I guess we’ll see. For now it seems to be a win win and that makes sense to me.

CommentLuv and KeywordLuv are cool, but CommentLuv displays everything in the name field. So, if you use both and commenters type Name@Keyword in the name field, CommentLuv shows “Name@Keyword’s last blog” CommentLuv should strip out the AT symbol and everything after it.
Keyword is the most useful way to boost our site in rank but most of sites bans because of use of keyword instead of name, but keywordluv and commentluv brought us a new hopes to use our keywords while commenting and many more.It is really best.

I think KeywordLuv and DoFollow are great plugins for someone like me who likes building links by commenting blogs. It encourages me to leave real comments, which I would anyway as I completely abhor spamming.

The Keyword Luv plugin is a must for anyone who is serious about SEO marketing. It is easy to install and use and should be added to every new site you launch.
I just figure out how to use keywordluv properly a week ago.

Nice blog post. Huge list of comments! The only problem with many sites that use KeywordLuv is that they add a do not follow.
I use KeywordLuv (along with commentluv) on a few of my wordpress blogs, especially when first starting out, because it encourages a community to form. The one I’m linking to, of course, is not because it is a shop (and therefore will not have normal comments).
That was good piece of info about do follow search engine, quite useful it is.
I love how KeywordLuv cuts down on spam comments! The more people who use it the better.
I use both keywordluv and commentluv on my blog as well. I think if you decide to do this on a blog it a spam protector like math or a captch is needed. Askimet does not do the trick.
I’m trying to figure out the difference in Keywordluv and commentluv. It seems the same to me, but obviously not if they are two different plugins.
These are both powerful plugins and well worth installing. The key is Do Follow which enables you to build up quality backlinks which should in turn help your Page Ranking. It is hard work but worth it!

It is a nice plug-in for rewarding “authentic commenters” not the backlink chasers who just ask some random stupid question and never return.

I also run I do follow blog but I have removed commenter love, there were too many spam comments.
I always put my name plus the at symbol and my keywords even on non comment and keywords love blogs, I think it is more respectful to the blog owner.
I do always check the comments in inverted commas in google to say if it appears multiple times on the many other comments.
I also never allow any URL within the comments as I think that it encourages others to do so to my detriment.
BENEFITS OF KEYWORDLUV:
1. Most bloggers and blog readers dislike keywords in the name field instead of a name. The reason commentators do that is because without KeywordLuv whatever is in the Name field is what is used as anchor text – and that is NOT effective. I started a new health blog and run Comment Luv on it. I figure it gives people a chance to use our blog to target their keywords and it gives us some content without having to write it ourselves. It really is a good deal all the way around. This blog was the top result for do follow blogs with high page rank so congrats on that accomplishment.
I tried using keywordluv around a year ago for about 2 months. Only recently I’ve started using it again because I find it’s good to have a variety of links pointing to my site.

Nice plugin. I am now using DoFollow and KeywordLuv on my blog site. DoFollow should be the default in Blogs as a lot of bloggers don’t understand how to turn it on. Wordpress disables it by default too, I believe.

I do, however make all my blogs do follow so that if anyone makes a comment that would at least be rewarded with that.
